Hanuman's Temple and Sikh Gurdwara

Today we went to the Hanuman temple and Sikh Gurdwara. It was neat to go again. I think I draw nearer to God each time I re-learn how unique He is. He's not chaotic and unpredictable. He's just and quick to act. He's welcoming and kind to all, like the Sikhs, but He's promised eternal salvation to those who come to Him! He is not partial (whereas the Hindu Gods give favor to those who give lots of money and flowers and food).

Also, I'm constantly amazed at how complete, how whole, how provocative the Word of our Father is. He has already addressed, so clearly, the things that are happening here, even in this present age. Today I read Romans 1 and 2. I see the things in this text lived out in my surroundings here. They have indeed traded in truth for falsehood! They have indeed seen the wonders of God but turned away! They are indeed not only practicing lawlessness, but ENCOURAGING and HONORING it!

I love our Father! What a mighty One He is! What a righteous and loving One we serve. What a personal and accepting Lord we know! What a forgiving Son we love!

Signing off,
An Admirer

Sometimes I think it's weird how it seems easier to see God in all is majesty and glory in a place that is so void of Him than to see Him in my own life and in the places where I worship Him.

Your blog is a good reminder of how amazing the Word is and how gracious He is. Thanks!

"... because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks..." (Rom 1:18-21a NASB)

Thank you Steph for expressing compassionate truth about the reality of God's revelation. For He indeed revealed Himself to all men in general ways, and man's sin represents the rejection and suppression of this truth.

When I began to understand this Scripture, it changed my perspective on outreach. We speak some things that may be completely new to to the listener (the Gospel of Jesus Christ is revealed specifically); but it only makes sense when we acknowledge what is already known in every heart. That we stand guilty before a Holy God, for all men know of Him and His attributes, and are aware of our frailty and wickedness against His infinite power and righteousness.

For those who claim not to "know" these things, it is because they have exchanged the truth for a lie, consciously or unconsciously darkening their heart and mind to where they can no longer see.

It is our responsibility as Christians to shine the light into that darkness, speaking the truth of Scripture and demonstrating God's love with our actions, but it is only the Spirit who can cause dead hearts to awaken. We should be free then from fear of witnessing by our own strength, because we are only charged with speaking God's words by which He alone can quicken the dead.

(Isaiah 55:11; Deut. 30:11-14)

I hope the flight back did not seem as long as the one out there, and that Aaron recovers from his illness. Again thank you for taking us 'with you' by your sharing here. For you were ambassadors for Christ Himself and for all of us in His Church, may He be glorified by your service.
